From exhaustion and frustration to confidence, strength and a brand-new lease of life — this is Pauline Scott’s story.
For almost eight months, Pauline felt like she was running on empty. After a severe chest infection, she was left with no energy, no drive, and no motivation to do the things she used to love. As someone who’s naturally active — balancing work, the home farm and family life — the sudden lack of energy was overwhelming.
“I had no get up and go. I didn’t want to do anything. It was frustrating because that’s not me,” Pauline says.
Alongside the exhaustion came a drop in confidence. She felt bloated, tired, and unhappy in her clothes. “I looked like I was seven or eight months pregnant,” she remembers. Slimming World, local gyms, and trying to figure it out alone didn’t help. Nothing stuck. Nothing changed.
Everything shifted in August 2024, after a holiday where she realised she’d had enough. She’d been seeing Evolve online and finally made the decision to join.
It turned out to be the moment everything changed.
Getting Started — and Hitting the First Breakthrough
By November/December, Pauline felt something she hadn’t felt in a long time: things were clicking.
Her energy was improving, she was loving her sessions, and she found herself happily heading to Evolve three times a week.
But her journey wasn’t without challenges.
In early 2025, Pauline became sick again and later had to undergo major abdominal surgery in February. She was devastated — she’d finally found her routine. But Evolve stepped in.
The coaches paused her membership, checked in regularly, and eased her back into training safely when she returned.
“Coaches used lighter weights, rebuilt my confidence and gave me advice on managing stress — everything from walking to taking time for self-care.”

“I’m proud of the journey… how my body shape has changed, how I’ve curbed the urge to feast on rubbish food, and how consistent I’ve been.”

Pauline’s Advice to Anyone Thinking About Starting
